EMDR Therapy in Texas (Online)

Some experiences stay with us.

Even when life moves forward, the body can remain tense, reactive, or on guard. You may logically know you are safe — yet your nervous system responds as if the threat is still present.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based trauma treatment designed to help the brain process and integrate distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.

Virtual EMDR therapy available throughout Texas.

What EMDR Helps With

EMDR therapy can be effective for:

• PTSD and complex trauma
• Childhood trauma
• Relational wounds
• Panic and anxiety
• Phobias
• Performance blocks
• Distressing memories that feel “stuck”
• Negative self-beliefs rooted in past experiences

Trauma does not have to be a single catastrophic event.
It can be chronic stress, emotional neglect, betrayal, or long-standing instability.

How EMDR Works

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (often guided eye movements) while you briefly focus on specific memories or beliefs. This helps the brain reprocess stored distress so it becomes integrated rather than activated.

Many clients report that memories feel less intense, less emotionally charged, and less disruptive after processing.

Importantly, EMDR is structured and paced carefully. You will not be pushed to revisit material before you feel ready.

Stabilization and nervous system regulation come first.

What EMDR Is Not

EMDR is not hypnosis.
It is not reliving trauma in detail.
It is not about overwhelming exposure.

It is a collaborative, structured method that supports the brain’s natural capacity to heal.

My Approach to EMDR

As a trauma-informed therapist, I integrate EMDR thoughtfully within a broader therapeutic framework. We ensure safety, emotional readiness, and adequate coping resources before beginning trauma processing.

My goal is not simply symptom reduction — but deeper emotional steadiness and self-trust.
